Dr. Osmar Barreto

DDS, MSc Cert. Orthodontics, FRCD(C) | Registered Orthodontist

Dr. Osmar Barreto grew up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and worked as both a dentist and an orthodontist in the Brazilian military. In 2011, he was appointed a full-time faculty member in the division of orthodontics at the University of Manitoba, where he taught orthodontics for three years.

During his time at the University of Manitoba, Dr. Barreto completed and achieved every level of orthodontic and dentofacial orthopedics training in Canada. Today, Dr. Barreto is proud to be a member in good standing of the Alberta Dental Association and College, the Royal College of Dentists in Canada, the Canadian Dental Association, the Canadian Association of Orthodontics, as well as the American Association of Orthodontics.

Additionally, Dr. Barreto continues to conduct research in the field of orthodontics, and his articles have been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals.
