Wanting to know more about the cost of orthodontic treatment through Invisalign clear aligners? You’re not the only one. Cost plays a huge role in many patient’s treatment choices, as orthodontic treatment is a huge and important investment in your current and future oral health. Here’s the average cost of Invisalign in Canada, along with costs that can sometimes be associated with special cases.

The Average Cost of Invisalign in Canada

Invisalign is very effective when it comes to treating minor to moderate orthodontic malocclusions. These clear aligners can also handle some of the more complex and severe cases, too, if your orthodontist has deemed that your unique case can be solved by Invisalign.

Your orthodontist will always have you in for a full consultation before recommending Invisalign as a treatment method.

The average orthodontic case requiring 8-30 months of treatment is approximately $5,000 to $9,700 in Canada. This cost is approximate and based on averages, and a consultation is always necessary to get an accurate cost for Invisalign treatment.

What Does This Cost Cover?

Once you’ve decided you’re comfortable pursuing Invisalign treatment and are comfortable with the anticipated cost, you’ll have access to more than just the clear aligners themselves. Here’s everything investing in Invisalign will get you while you’re in our care.

  • The Creation of Your Aligners

We use advanced iTero scanning technology to take detailed 3D scans of your teeth, mouth, and jaw. These detailed scans capture every orthodontic issue you’re facing for an extremely accurate representation of your exact needs, what your treatment plan calls for, and how your aligners should be created. We will review your results with you, as well as your expected treatment outcome – another amazing feature that iTero scanning offers!

We then send all of this information along with any notes we have to a lab of our choosing. They will then create your Invisalign trays based on our instruction so they’re perfectly suited to you and the treatment plan we’ve made for you. The scans, creation of your aligners, and the aligners themselves are all factored into your quoted cost.

  • Check-ins

As you progress through your treatment, we’ll want to check in with you on a semi-regular basis to see how everything is moving along. The cost of these visits is factored into the payment, or payments you’re already making as part of your complete treatment. We’ll always supervise the process, and make ourselves available for any questions or concerns you may have as you embark on this journey.

  • Replacement Aligners

If you lose an aligner, don’t panic, and make sure you call us right away. We’ll be able to work with you and assess whether you can move on to your next set or contact our lab to get a replacement for you right away.

Sometimes these replacement aligners are covered, and sometimes there is a small cost you pay out of pocket. Make sure you cover this with your orthodontist at the beginning of your treatment so there aren’t any surprises, and you can budget for emergencies.

Insurance

Many insurance plans through your employer will partially or fully cover orthodontic treatment as part of your bundle. Before you commit to payments, check your insurance plan to see if you have any additional coverage available to help cover a portion of the cost.

We’re also happy to connect with your insurance provider to help you get an idea of how much coverage you have before proceeding with a treatment plan. We will direct bill to your insurance to help make your life a little easier, and simplify the payment process.

Financing

To help our patients have access to the treatment they want and deserve, we offer financing options for Invisalign. This financing involves monthly payment installments that continue throughout the length of your treatment.

We’ll provide you with our financing options and give you an estimate of your future monthly costs. These plans include zero interests and low monthly payments to better suit your budget.

Complex Cases

As not all cases are the same and no two patients are alike, costs for orthodontic treatment will always vary based on your unique criteria.

More complex cases tend to be more costly to treat, too, based on the required materials and longer timelines. A complicated Invisalign case has to be assessed in a consultation with an orthodontist in order to accurately determine treatment cost.
